Job summary

UAB Medicine’s Highlands 6 North unit, a 24-bed acute care setting, seeks a Registered Nurse for the PM shift (7 p.m.–7 a.m.). The unit features two-way audio/visual collaboration with the virtual nursing team and a track record of excellence.

The role emphasizes applying the nursing process to health maintenance, patient education, and safe, cost-conscious care. Requires Alabama RN licensure, BLS, and potential ACLS/PALS depending on assignment.

Qualifications

• RN license in Alabama required.
• BLS certification required or obtained within 30 days.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
• ACLS and/or PALS may be required depending on the unit.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to provide care, health promotion, and illness prevention.
• Collaborate with physicians, psychologists, podiatrists, podiatrist, and dentist to coordinate care.
• Deliver patient care with the patient and family, using AACN Synergy Model to guide decisions.
