Job summary

St. Joseph Medical Center in Kansas City, MO is seeking an RN House Supervisor to oversee nursing operations during night shifts.

This full-time role requires leadership across departments to ensure safe, efficient patient care and uninterrupted staffing when administration is off-site. The RN House Supervisor will coordinate staffing, crisis response, patient flow, and interdepartmental collaboration with ED, ICU, and med-surg units, while supporting staff and maintaining a high standard of

Qualifications

• Current RN license in good standing.
• BLS certification current or on hire.
• ACLS certification within 30 days of hire and maintained.
• Minimum of 3 years acute care nursing experience.
• 1 year supervisor experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Intervene in emergencies, including codes and rapid responses.
• Monitor patient flow, bed availability, admissions, discharges and transfers.
• Collaborate with ED, ICU, med-surg, and ancillary departments to avoid bottlenecks.
• Manage staffing based on census and acuity; coordinate float pool and agency support when needed.
• Prepare shift reports and document critical incidents and safety concerns.
• Oversee hospital operations during shifts in absence of admin leadership.
• Support staff, assist with urgent procedures, ensure RN orientation.
