Job summary

Swedish Hospital Chicago is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Clinical Decisional Unit on nights. The role involves applying the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate care for patients during observation periods up to 16 hours.

You will coordinate with units, maintain current competencies including CPR, ACLS, NIHSS, and ACS; participate in safety, documentation, and mentorship, and may float to other inpatient units as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Illinois nursing licensure is required.
• ACLS/CPR certifications (ACLS within 3 months; CPR current).
• Experience in cardiac telemetry or critical care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Apply the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate patient care.
• Maintain competency aligned with current standards and evidence-based practice.
• Guide and supervise nursing staff; promote patient safety.
• Document thoroughly and timely; participate in emergency actions as needed.
