Job summary

Johnson Memorial Health in Franklin, Indiana is seeking a registered nurse to join our patient‑care team. You will obtain and record initial assessments, set priorities, and coordinate care for diverse patients on rotating shifts.

This role requires Indiana RN licensure, BLS/CPR, PALS for pediatric care, and orientation ACLS; a BSN is preferred. Three 12‑hour shifts, 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., with a $5,000 bonus available and a 24‑month commitment.

Qualifications

• Licensed RN in Indiana required.
• BLS or CPR for Healthcare Providers Certification required.
• PALS Certification required for staff who are assigned to care for pediatric patients.
• BSN preferred.
• ACLS or ALS certification during orientation.
• Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course or PALS must be completed within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Obtains and records initial assessment and establishes priorities according to patient age, symptoms, and psychosocial needs.
• Reassesses patients systematically to identify progress and trends requiring intervention.
• Implements and documents timely interventions appropriate to patient needs and recognizes emergencies.
• Makes comprehensive nursing decisions based on interpretation of facts and evaluations of patient outcomes.
• Participates in patient and significant other health education and discharge planning.
• Coordinates team assignments and makes adjustments based on patient and unit needs; follows up on delegated care tasks for quality and completeness.
• Utilizes appropriate chain of command for resolution of difficult issues.
• Participates in orientation of new staff.
• Maintains a neat, organized, and safe environment for patients and staff.
• Participates in unit quality improvement plans.
• Functions as a resource to visitors, physicians, and staff and greets them promptly and courteously.
• Complies with laws, regulations, standards, and Johnson Memorial Health policies including Blood and Body Substance Precautions.
