Job summary

EvergreenHealth in the Puget Sound area, near Seattle, seeks an experienced NICU Level III RN to join the Children’s Services department on a per diem basis. This role requires at least two years of Level III NICU experience and Washington RN licensure.

Per diem options include tiered hourly premiums and flexible monthly hours. The RN provides direct nursing care under established policies and collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care in a Magnet-recognized

Qualifications

• Graduate of nursing program and licensed as RN in Washington state
• Current BLS certification by date of hire
• Current PALS certification by date of hire for Pediatrics
• NRP certification within 4 weeks of hire; 1+ years NICU RN experience

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care and acts as patient advocate.
• Assesses nursing needs for assigned patients.
• Coordinates patient and family education.
• Plans and evaluates patient care with the team.
• Collaborates with physicians and other disciplines to implement care plans.
• Communicates patient information to supervisor and physicians.

Job description

Wage Range: $48.21 - $87.11 per hour

Posted wage ranges represent the entire range from minimum to maximum. For jobs with more than one level, the posted range reflects the minimum of the lowest level and the maximum of the highest level. Some positions also offer additional premiums based on shift, certifications, or degrees. Job offers are determined based on a candidate's years of relevant experience, level of education and internal equity.

Tier 1 Per Diem RN

• Available to work at least 24 hours per month
• 17% hourly premium

Tier 2 Per Diem RN

• Available to work 60 hours per month, including:
  • 1 weekend shift per month
  • 1 Holiday in Summer
  • 1 Holiday in Winter
• 20% hourly premium

We are seeking an experienced NICU Level III Nurse to join our Children’s Services department.

In this role, the RN is responsible for the total direct nursing care of all patients within established standards of care, hospital and unit policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Recent Level III NICU RN experience required, minimum of two (2) years preferred.

Primary Duties:

1. Provides direct patient care and functions as a patient advocate.
2. Assesses the comprehensive nursing needs of an assigned group of patients.
3. Coordinates the patient and family/significant other education process.
4. Continuously plans, implements, and evaluates patient care, incorporating patient and family/significant other into the process.
5. Participates with physician partners and other interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement patient and family/significant other plan of care.
6. Communicates effectively all relevant information (e.g., patient information, safety issues, problems with equipment, quality issues, etc.) to immediate supervisor, in timely way.
7. Communicates and documents changes in patient condition, on a timely basis, to charge nurse/supervisor and physician.
8. Accountable for following the guidelines for attendance, punctuality and overall dependability.
9. Accountable for effective performance and follow-through of all assigned responsibilities and for completing responsibilities within designated (or agreed upon) timeframes. Completes responsibilities in a manner consistent with organizational policy, goals and values.
10. Responsible for the "Accountabilities" associated with this position in support of the organization.
11. Performs other duties as assigned.

License, Certification, Education or Experience:

REQUIRED for the position:

• Graduate of a nursing program (Nursing Diploma, Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree and/or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree) Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Washington
• Current Healthcare Provider BLS certification by date of hire
• Current Healthcare Provider PALS certification by date of hire (RNs working in Pediatrics only)
• NRP certification within 4 weeks of hire{typo?}1+ years of inpatient NICU RN experience

DESIRED for the position:

• Master’s in Nursing (MSN)
• Two (2) years of recent Level III NICU RN experience preferred
