Corewell Health's Dearborn NICU seeks an experienced RN to provide high‑quality, patient‑family centered care in a 30‑bed Level III unit. You will assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and discharge using the nursing process, while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team and maintaining detailed documentation.

Required are an RN license (MI), ADN/ Diploma with BSN within 5 years for new grads, NCLEX, and BLS; NRP preferred with 6‑month window. NICU experience is favored.

Qualifications

• Associates or Diploma in Nursing required.
• Bachelor's in Nursing required within 5 years for new graduates.
• Graduate from non-accredited school must have NCLEX/licensure and acute care experience or two years in licensed health care role.
• Michigan RN license required or within 60 days of hire.
• BLS, AHA/ARC required at hire; NRP within 6 months.
• NICU experience preferred; new graduates may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care using the nursing process (assess, plan, implement, evaluate, discharge).
• Deliver patient-family centered care and develop teaching strategies for patients and families.
• Collaborate with Nurse Leader and multidisciplinary teams to plan and execute care.
• Document education and care plans in the health record.

About the unit

This is a 30 bed Level 3 neonatal critical care unit. NICU has a very team like atmosphere. A Neonatologist and NNP are on the unit 24 hours a day. Nursing participates in many nursing councils across the hospital. NICU nurses are NRP certified and attend all high-risk deliveries in labor and delivery. NICU nurses along with a multidisciplinary team participate in transporting infants from neighboring hospitals to Beaumont Dearborn's NICU.

Scope of work

The RN, under the ANA scope of practice utilizes the framework of the nursing process to provide professional nursing care by incorporating patient-family centered care principles to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and discharge. The RN provides quality patient care under the direction of the Nurse Leader according to Corewell Health policies and procedures and recognizes the impact of nursing care and patient/family partnerships on patient outcomes. The RN partners with and utilizes patient/family input and goals in planning plan of care and develops teaching strategies for patient/family; documents education and learning appropriately in health record.

Qualifications

• Associates or Diploma in Nursing Required
• Bachelors in Nursing Required within 5 years if new graduate/nurse with less than one (1) year experience
• Graduates from a non-accredited school of nursing must have at least one year of acute care experience or at least two years of experience in a licensed health care role and must have successfully passed the NCLEX licensure examination
• MI Registered Nurse (RN) required or if new grad within 60 days of hire
• AHA, ARC, or Canadian Heart and Stroke Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire/transfer
• NRP within 6 months of hire/transfer
• Specialty Certification highly recommended within 2 years
• Prefer RN experience, ideally in NICU. May consider new graduates.
