Corewell Health's Troy Hospital is seeking a Part-time RN for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) on the 3rd floor. You will provide expert nursing care to neonates, collaborate with the neonatal team, and support families throughout the care plan. The role requires 1 year of NICU experience, MI RN licensure, and BLS/NRP certifications with NRP within 6 months.

• Associates or Diploma in Nursing required.
• Bachelor’s in Nursing required within 5 years if new graduate.
• Non-accredited grads: 1 year acute care or 2 years in healthcare with NCLEX.
• MI RN license required.

• Specialty certification recommended within 2 years.
• 1 year RN NICU experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care to NICU patients using the nursing process.
• Collaborate with Neonatology and multidisciplinary teams to plan and discharge care.

This is a 29 bed Level 3 neonatal critical care unit, caring for neonates 28 weeks and up. NICU has a very team like atmosphere. A Neonatologist and NNP are on the unit 24 hours a day. Nursing participates in many nursing councils across the hospital. NICU nurses are NRP certified and attend all high-risk deliveries in labor and delivery. NICU nurses along with a multidisciplinary team participate in transporting infants from neighboring hospitals to Beaumont Dearborn's NICU.

Scope of work

The RN, under the ANA scope of practice utilizes the framework of the nursing process to provide professional nursing care by incorporating patient-family centered care principles to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and discharge. The RN provides quality patient care under the direction of the Nurse Leader according to Corewell Health policies and procedures and recognizes the impact of nursing care and patient/family partnerships on patient outcomes. The RN partners with and utilizes patient/family input and goals in planning plan of care and develops teaching strategies for patient/family; documents education and learning appropriately in health record.

Qualifications

• Associates or Diploma in Nursing Required
• Bachelor’s in Nursing Required within 5 years if new graduate/nurse with less than one (1) year experience
• Graduates from a non-accredited school of nursing must have at least one year of acute care experience or at least two years of experience in a licensed health care role and must have successfully passed the NCLEX licensure examination.
• MI Registered Nurse (RN) Required
• AHA, ARC, or Canadian Heart and Stroke Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire
• NRP within 6 months of hire/transfer
• Specialty Certification highly recommended within 2 years
• 1 year RN NICU experience is required.
