Job summary

Cynet Health is seeking a Neuro Medical-Surgical RN for a 13-week assignment in Illinois. This day-shift role covers Neuro, spinal and post-op care with telemetry, rapid response involvement, and a focus on wound care and isolation precautions. Local candidates welcome; travel not required.

Candidates must have an active Illinois license, 2+ years Med/Surg experience, and proficiency with Cerner. BLS and NIHSS are required; familiarity with trauma level II settings is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide Med/Surg Neuro patient care with telemetry and rapid response involvement.
• Float within unit to meet facility needs.
• Support pre/post neurosurgery and spinal injury care.
• Provide wound care, isolation precautions, and port/IV management as required.
• Document in Cerner and assist with multiple neuro/trauma cases.

Description:The position is for a Medical Surgical Neuro Registered Nurse.The average daily census on the unit is 32 patients.Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in the medical-surgical setting.First-time travelers are not accepted.Weekend work is required every other weekend.No on-call work is required for this position.Clinicians will float as needed within their scope to meet facility needs.Candidates should discuss scheduling requests with the manager.This role is open to local candidates with no radius restrictions.It is preferred to have no more than 5 days of requested time off within the assignment.The client may call off up to 36 hours during the 13-week assignment without compensation.Any additional cancellations by the client will incur billing charges for the excess hours.Special requirements include experience with telemetry and rapid response teams.Candidates should have colostomy care and feeding tube management skills.Accessing ports and IV therapy experience are also required.Experience with specific medications such as heparin and insulin is necessary.Candidates should be comfortable managing pre/post neurosurgery care and understanding spinal cord injuries and traumatic brain injuries.Skills in chest tube management and non-invasive airway management are required.Continuous bladder irrigation and wound care experience are mandatory.Experience with Cerner is required.Preferred candidates will have experience in a teaching hospital and with trauma level II patients.
