Description:This position offers a 36 or 48-hour option with a 13 or 26-week contract.Travelers are the first to float and will float within scope to meet the needs of the facility.The unit provides intensive care to adult patients who have suffered traumatic brain injuries, strokes, epilepsy, and other head traumas.Patients do not go to a recovery room post-operatively; they will return to the unit for recovery.Registered Nurses should be prepared to care for up to five Med Surg patients.EVDs will be placed at the bedside.There are patients with EEG leads implanted in the brain to detect seizures, who can be on the unit for up to three weeks.A maximum of four weekend shifts out of eight possible in a four-week period are required, specifically on Saturdays and Sundays.The travelers must work two out of three major holidays.RTO restrictions allow for up to two weeks of time off, submitted with the application.This is a 100% nicotine-free facility.Floating among various units may be necessary.A comprehensive or primary Joint Commission Stroke Certified Facility experience is preferred.EVD experience is necessary for this role.Compliance with required certifications is mandatory.
