Description:Float Pool Registered Nurses needed to float between MedSurg/Telemetry and step-down units.The Flex Team will cover MedSurg units, Step-down, IRU (Rehab), and ED holding.MedSurg units include private bedded areas.The step-down unit will accommodate patients who require increased monitoring.Unit ratios vary by location but generally range from 1:4-7.Charge nurse responsibilities and nurse manager assignments will be managed by onsite leadership.Patient care involves a mix of post-surgical, orthopedic, pneumonia, dialysis, palliative care, hospice, end-of-life, and chemotherapy cases.COVID patients are being housed on designated hallways, requiring comfort in dealing with both clean and dirty patients.Vents such as BiPAP and CPAP will be managed in collaboration with respiratory therapy.The Electronic Medical Record system used is Epic.Nurses should be proficient at reading and interpreting telemetry strips.Weekend and holiday work will be required per unit schedules.Block scheduling may be accommodated as long as unit needs are met.Effective communication and support from unit leadership enhance the work environment.Collaboration with in-house hospitalists and intensivists for patient management is essential.Candidates must be skilled in administering and titrating various IV drips when necessary.This position requires high adaptability and teamwork across multiple clinical settings.
