Job summary

Cynet HealthStaff is seeking an RN for a 27-bed General Medicine Unit on a night shift with 12-hour blocks in Charlottesville, VA. This 13-week contract requires a minimum of 1 year of nursing experience and Epic EMR proficiency.

The position includes every other weekend scheduling, with 36–48 hours per week and potential time-off constraints around holidays; BLS preferred, ACLS preferred but not required; pending licenses accepted.

Description:This position is for a 27-bed General Medicine Unit.Clinicians on this unit care for a variety of disease processes that involve respiratory, endocrine, cardiac, immune/infectious disease, and renal systems.The shift is a night schedule.Available hours may include 36 or 48 hours per week.Every other weekend is required, along with working 2 out of the 3 winter holidays.Block scheduling cannot be accommodated.Time-off requests are limited to a maximum of 40 hours for the contract period.Time off around the Christmas holiday cannot be approved.The candidate must adhere to the float policy.Epic experience is required unless noted otherwise.

Patient care involves managing patients with respiratory illnesses, renal illnesses, diabetes, sepsis, cellulitis, infections, heart failure, sickle cell, and cystic fibrosis.The unit supports interdisciplinary care with teams for IV, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretarial support.The unit conducts nurse-driven Heparin infusions, insulin drips via Glucomander, and telemetry.Special equipment includes lift equipment, HOVER mats, chest tubes, PCA pumps, bladder scanners, and wound vacs.The daily patient census on the unit is approximately 25.Patient age groups served include adults and geriatrics.
