Description:
This is a float pool position based in a telemetry unit.
The nurse will be required to float to different units.
Nurses will care for high acuity patient populations.
Common diagnoses include pneumonia, end-stage renal disease, post-cath lab patients, respiratory distress, CHF, and COPD.
Nurses must have experience with drips.
Chest tube experience is preferred.
The nurse will typically work in ratios of 1 to 4 or 1 to 5, depending on the unit.
Charge nurses will not take patient assignments during their shifts.
There will be nurse aides available, but their presence may vary based on census.
The unit has limited resources and nurses will be very busy.
There is a hospitalist or intensivist on-call after hours.
The float pool currently has limited resources.
Nurses must have a positive attitude and a compassionate approach to patient care.
Travel experience is preferred but not required.
