Job summary

Cynet HealthStaff is seeking an experienced RN for the Medical-Surgical Orthopedics unit on the night shift. This 13-week contract requires 48 hours per week in a 32-bed unit staffed by 49 team members, with responsibilities across spine, neuro and joint procedures.

The ideal candidate will be team-oriented, capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment, and proficient with Meditech EMR. A current RN license and BLS certification are essential for this assignment.

Qualifications

• RN license required.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS or PALS preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of Medical-Surgical nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Care for MS Ortho patients on the night shift with 12-hour shifts.
• Monitor patient status and respond to changes promptly.
• Collaborate with the charge nurse, techs and unit secretary.
• Assist with admissions, discharges and documentation in Meditech.

Description:This position guarantees 48 hours per week.The unit has 32 beds and a staff of 49.Staff consists of 1 charge nurse, 6-8 RNs, 4 patient care technicians, and 1 unit secretary on the day shift.Night shift staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 6-8 RNs, 4 patient care technicians, and 1 unit secretary until 10 PM.Patient ratios are 1:4 typically, and can go up to 1:6 with patient care technicians.Equipment used includes Welch Allens and EMR Meditech.Skill sets for this position include complex spine care, complex neuro surgery cases, total joint replacements, and general surgery.The ideal candidate should be team-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment.Candidates may float to Med/Tele and surgical specialty floors.The dress code consists of royal blue tops and bottoms, or royal blue tops with black scrub bottoms.Weekends are rotated every third weekend.Nights can be either Friday, Saturday, or Sunday.
