Cynet Health is seeking an RN for a Medical-Surgical unit assignment in Illinois. This 20-bed blended unit serves pediatric and adult women with a typical census around 11 patients.

The 13-week contract uses 12-hour night shifts. Requires 1 year of experience, current license, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, and EPIC experience within the year. ACLS not required; agency RNs may float based on census and staffing.

Qualifications

• Must have EPIC experience within the year.
• BLS Certification required, NIHSS and PALS certifications noted.
• Minimum 1 year RN experience in a medical-surgical setting.

Responsibilities

• This is a 20-bed blended unit with adult and pediatric patients.
• Care for pediatric patients and adult women, current census ~11.
• RN to care for no more than 5 patients when census allows.
• Unit uses Allscripts charting and Acu-dose medication system.
• Agency RNs may float to other units based on census and staffing.
• Cancellation policy allows 3 shifts per 13-week contract.

Description:This is a 20-bed blended unit.The average census is approximately 11 patients.Census typically increases during the winter months.During the RSV season, the unit cares for 8 to 10 pediatric patients and 4 to 6 adult patients.In milder RSV seasons, the proportion of adult patients increases.The goal is for each RN to care for no more than 5 patients, depending on census and available staff.Core staffing consists of 3 RNs for the unit.A centralized staffing office determines unit staffing based on census and acuity.Agency RNs may need to float to other units if the census decreases.Staff should be comfortable with adult and pediatric patients.The charting system used is Allscripts.The medication system employed is Acu-dose.PALS certification is required as the RN will be caring for pediatric patients.ACLS certification is not required.The cancellation policy allows for 3 shifts per 13-week contract.
