Job summary

St. David's South Austin Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Mother Baby PRN unit. You will educate mothers on newborn care, assess health status, and collaborate with a dedicated team that prioritizes compassionate patient care and safety for both mother and baby.

Ideal candidates have an Associate Degree of Nursing, Texas RN license (or compact with license by hire), BLS and NRP certification. BSN is preferred, with at least one year of RN experience and acute care exposure.

Qualifications

• 1 year of clinical nursing experience as an RN is required.
• 1 year of acute care experience is preferred.
• Associates Degree of Nursing is required; BSN preferred.
• Texas RN license or Compact license with Texas license required within 90 days of hire.
• BLS certification required; NRP certification required.
• RNC-OB certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments for mother and baby.
• Plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans.
• Provide direct nursing care and supervise non-licensed staff within RN scope.
• Educate mothers on newborn care and recognize postpartum depression symptoms.
