Job summary

St. David’s North Austin Medical Center, part of St. David’s HealthCare, is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Obstetrics Emergency Department (OBED).

You will coordinate and provide patient care, perform initial and ongoing assessments, develop individualized care plans, and facilitate discharge planning. The role requires 1 year of RN experience; an ADN is required, BSN is preferred, and Texas RN licensure with BLS/ACLS/NRP certifications is expected.

Qualifications

• 1 year of clinical nursing experience as an RN required.
• ADN degree required; BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete admission interview and document patient assessment.
• Identify changes in patient condition and report to physician or charge nurse.
• Assess and document patient education needs and discharge instructions.
• Provide psychological and social support to patient and family.
• Facilitate interdisciplinary discharge planning.
• Administer medications accurately and document them legibly.
• Keep physician/Clinical Nurse Coordinator informed of significant changes.
• Continuously evaluate and modify the care plan as needed.
• Provide nursing interventions based on the care plan and document responses.
