Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide breastfeeding instruction and discharge teaching.
• Manage IV therapy, pain control and monitor for complications.
• Inpatient postpartum care with diverse patient needs; charting in the Epic system.

Description:The registered nurse will specialize in Mother-Baby and Couplet Care.The nurse will work three 12-hour night shifts per week, with an option for four shifts.Weekend shifts will be required every other weekend.Holidays will be required as they fall as scheduled.Floating within skill set will be required.Candidates accepted for this position must have a minimum of two years of experience.NCC C-EFM certification is necessary for this role.AWHONN certifications are acceptable as continuing education hours.STABLE certification is preferred but not required.The nurse will be responsible for the administration of care to both mother and infant.Key responsibilities include assisting with circumcision care, breast feeding instruction, and discharge teaching to parents.The nurse will perform newborn assessments and manage postpartum care.Additional duties involve IV therapy, pain management, and monitoring for complications.The daily patient population includes neonates and postpartum mothers.An interdisciplinary support team will be available, including therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response teams.Patient ratios will vary, and candidates must be prepared for diverse patient needs.
