Job summary

Baptist Health is seeking an RN Mentor to develop and implement a mentorship model for nursing staff across units. The role acts as a clinical leader, educator, and consultant, guiding less experienced nurses and nursing students while delivering hands-on patient care where needed.

Collaborating with unit Educators, Preceptors, and Nursing Leadership, the Mentor will assess needs, deliver orientation, and provide education lectures and case studies to support safe, effective nursing practice and

Qualifications

• Active RN licensure with BLS required; ACLS/PALS/NRP may be required depending on unit.
• Minimum 5 years of medical-surgical, ICU, or specialty nursing experience or teaching in acute care.
• BSN preferred; MSN highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a mentorship model for nursing staff.
• Serve as role model, educator, consultant and clinician.
• Collaborate with unit Educators, Preceptors and Nursing Leadership to assess needs.
• Participate in delivery of new clinical staff orientation.
• Conduct rounds to guide less experienced nurses and support career development.
• Prepare and deliver nursing education lectures and case studies.
• Provide patient care in areas where needed to support the team, and assist with transitions to competency.
