Job summary

Harbor House of Wheeling IV LLC is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join their team. The RN assumes responsibility for a group of residents per shift, providing care through assessment, implementation, and evaluation of care plans.

You will manage nursing reports, administer medications, and ensure a safe environment while supervising CNAs under regulatory standards. The role requires current RN license in Illinois, CPR certification, and preferred 1 year of LTC experience.

Qualifications

• Current CPR Certification required.
• Nursing Degree or diploma from an accredited College or University.
• Possess a current license to practice in the State as a Registered Nurse.
• 1 year of experience preferred.
• Long-Term care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides licensed care to assigned residents as ordered by physician and in accordance with facility, federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations.
• Provides and receives nursing reports upon reporting in and ending shift duty hours.
• Ensures assigned work area is maintained in a clean and sanitary manner.
• Directs and supervises the day-to-day certified nursing assistant services for assigned unit.
• Takes and records residents blood pressure and vital signs; administers catheter care and IV therapy as ordered.
• Receives and transcribes physician’s orders to resident charts and MAR; treatment plans.
• Prepares and administers medications and performs treatments as ordered by the physician.
• Charts nurses notes reflecting care provided and resident response.
• Counts controlled drugs with another nurse at shift change; reports discrepancies.
• Ensures environment is free from accidents and hazards; addresses safety risks.
• Makes reports/recommendations on shift activities.
• Admits/transfers/discharges residents as necessary for safety and needs.
• All other duties as assigned.
