Job summary

Scripps Mercy Hospital, part of Scripps Health, is seeking a part-time RN for our MedSurg Tele Float Pool across San Diego and Chula Vista campuses. The role features 12-hour day shifts, a 48-hour pay period, and benefits.

New hire incentives up to $2,000 may apply for part-time hires. Responsibilities include patient assessment, planning, and coordinated care with the team in a family-centered environment.

Qualifications

• Registered Nursing Degree from an Accredited School of Nursing.
• Active California RN license.
• American Heart Association BLS Healthcare Provider Certification.
• 2 years of recent adult MedSurg Tele RN experience.
• Must be willing to float to other units.
• Able to speak, read and follow instructions in English.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and positive behaviors.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, and implement patient care; evaluate progress toward outcomes.
• RN takes primary responsibility for patient care and collaborates with the care team to ensure optimal results in a family-centered environment.

Scripps Mercy Hospital has served central and downtown San Diego since 1890 and is the oldest medical center in the county. The San Diego campus is located near the corner of 5th Avenue and Washington Street in Hillcrest.

Scripps Mercy Hospital consists of two campuses in San Diego and Chula Vista.

Scripps Mercy Hospital San Diego’s campus includes the O’Toole Breast Care Center, a 24-hour emergency room that is a Level I Trauma Center, outpatient physical rehabilitation, minimally invasive robotic surgery and our childbirth unit (including a Level II neonatal intensive care unit).

This is a Part Time with benefits (48 hrs/pay period), 12-hour Day shifts RN opportunity, working Day in our MedSurg Tele Float Pool between our Mercy Hospitals (San Diego and Chula Vista).

The Site-Based Float Pool at Scripps Mercy San Diego and Chula Vista provides essential nursing support to Stepdown. Nurses enjoy flexibility, teamwork, and leadership support while floating between units. As a MedSurg Tele, you'll join a skilled team focused on delivering excellent care. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, and implementing patient care, while evaluating progress towards outcomes. The RN takes primary responsibility for patient care and collaborates with the care team to ensure optimal results in a family-centered environment.

Eligible for up to $2k new hire incentives for part time.

The Following Are Not Eligible For Hiring Incentives

• Rehires that left Scripps less than 3 years ago

In order to remain eligible for your retention incentive the following criteria must be met:

• Must remain in original hired FTE Status and Shift (if specified in offer letter)
• Must remain in original department/specialty
• Must remain in original Job Title
• Transfers to other locations will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and may result in forfeiting remaining incentive bonus unless specifically noted in your offer letter.

Position Pay Range: $59.16-$85.68/hour
