Mercy’s Pittsburg Medical Surgical (Med-Surg) unit seeks a Registered Nurse to deliver patient-centered care across a 32-bed unit with diverse diagnoses. You’ll apply the nursing process, monitor patient status, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize outcomes.

Ideal candidates hold an RN license in our state or a compact jurisdiction, a nursing degree, and AHA BLS certification. Relocation assistance, shift differentials, and strong retirement benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• RN license in the state where duties are performed and must meet state board requirements.
• Nursing degree from an accredited school.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.

Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Position Details

The Medical Surgical unit, also known as Med-Surg, is a specialty unit that makes up the foundation of nursing. The Medical Surgical unit at Mercy Pittsburg is a 32-bed unit that manages acute medical surgical patients with a wide range of diagnoses and care needs. Functionally, this unit houses and cares for patients who are preparing for or recovering from medical and surgical interventions. Given the generalized nature of the Med-Surg unit and the amount of variation in patient conditions, the acuity of patients vary.

Qualifications

• Required Education: Nursing Degree from an accredited school
• License: current RN license in our state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements
• Certifications: Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association
