Job summary

Mercy Pittsburg seeks a compassionate RN to join the Med-Surg unit. You will apply the nursing process to deliver patient care, ensure patient rights and confidentiality, and collaborate with multiple departments to coordinate care across diverse medical and surgical conditions.

In this role, you’ll uphold Mercy values, participate in care that spans admission to discharge, and contribute to a supportive, patient-centered environment on a 32-bed Med-Surg unit.

Qualifications

• RN license in state where nursing duties are performed
• Nursing degree from an accredited school
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association

• Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care.
• Maintains professional accountability for patient care for assigned patients.
• Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers.

The Medical Surgical unit at Mercy Pittsburg is a 32-bed unit that manages acute medical surgical patients with a wide range of diagnoses and care needs. Functionally, this unit houses and cares for patients who are preparing for or recovering from medical and surgical interventions. Given the generalized nature of the Med-Surg unit and the amount of variation in patient conditions, the acuity of patients vary.

• Required Education: Nursing Degree from an accredited school
• License: current RN license in our state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements
• Certifications: Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association
