Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse for Medical Unit-II at RWJ University Hospital New Brunswick. The role involves day shifts from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., providing comprehensive patient care, documentation, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team in a 14-bed unit.

Candidates should hold an active New Jersey RN license, BLS, and preferably an acute care background. ACLS preferred with a 6-month window to obtain.

Qualifications

• Must hold an active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing and a current American Heart Association BLS Certification.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing strongly preferred or to be completed within 5 years of hire.
• ACLS Certification preferred or must be obtained within 6 months of employment.
• Prior 1-2 years of RN experience in acute care preferred; EMR experience (EPIC) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and recognize clinical changes, intervening early and advocating for patients.
• Provide safe, evidence-based medications, treatments, and hands-on care with strong clinical judgment.
• Collaborate with physicians and advanced providers to support timely, well-coordinated care decisions.
• Offer clear, compassionate education to patients and families for informed decision-making.
