Job summary

St. David's HealthCare in Austin, TX is seeking a Medical Surgical Float Pool Registered Nurse. You will perform patient assessments, develop a plan of care, and implement and evaluate care as part of a collaborative interdisciplinary care team.

The role includes planning, collaboration, medication administration, education, discharge planning, and perioperative care. This PRN float pool position involves no travel.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• (RN) Registered Nurse.
• Associate Degree.

Responsibilities

• Formulate a plan of care, revise the plan based on the patient’s response to treatment and regularly evaluate plan for effectiveness.
• Consult and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop, evaluate and revise the plan of care to meet the patient’s needs and goals.
• Administer medications and complete treatments according to hospital policy.
• Delegate work appropriately to non-licensed staff in accordance with standards of practice.
• Provide pre- and post-operative patient care.
• Provide education materials to patients and families on care and treatments.
• Facilitate discharge plans in collaboration with the care team.
