Carilion Clinic in Roanoke, VA is seeking a Registered Nurse for the 7M Medical Specialty Unit, a 12-bed inpatient unit caring for adults with complex medical needs.

The RN will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care, collaborating with physicians, therapists, case managers, addiction specialists, and behavioral health professionals, and documenting in the EMR.

This part-time role includes day/evening/night shifts, competitive pay, and benefits, with a focus on recovery-oriented patient care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a State Board of Nursing approved program required.
• Current Registered Nurse license in Virginia or eligibility to obtain licensure.
• AHA BLS-HCP certification required.
• Keyboarding skills and computer literacy including EMR usage.
• Behavioral health roles may require managing disruptive patients.

Responsibilities

• Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care.
• Completes and documents age-specific assessments to support care plans.
• Collaborates with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and adjust care plans.
• Administers treatments and medications accurately and documents care in EMR.
• Identifies and addresses patient and family education needs.
• Participates in performance improvement and quality initiatives.
• Advocates for patients and supports rights and psychosocial needs.
• Manages resources, prioritizes tasks, and supports orientation of new staff.
