Job summary

Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center in Las Vegas, NV is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for our Medical Pulmonary Unit. You will plan, implement and evaluate nursing care for pulmonary and respiratory diagnoses, including COPD, pneumonia and TB.

The role requires graduation from an accredited nursing program, Nevada RN license, CPR certification, and the ability to develop care plans, administer meds, manage IV therapy and educate patients.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an Accredited School of Nursing.
• BSN preferred.
• Current CPR certification from American Heart Association required.
• Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Nevada.
• Independently maintains license.
• Acquires required contact hours to maintain practice.
• Basic computer and hospital informatics skills required.
• Specialty Certification where required: example: Chemotherapy; ACLS; PALS.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individual patient care plans in accordance with nursing standards.
• Administer medications as ordered and understand their actions, side effects and contraindications.
• Initiate and manage IV therapy for assigned patients.
• Coordinate patient placement on the unit considering nursing care complexity.
• Assess environment for safety and communicate concerns promptly.
• Provide patient education and keep patients informed of treatment plans.
