Job summary

Baylor University Medical Center, part of Baylor Scott & White Health, in Dallas, TX, is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Medical Oncology Unit. The 24-bed unit cares for solid and liquid cancers across all stages, with night shifts (3-12 hour) and a focus on learning, mentoring, and teamwork.

Ideal candidates hold a BSN or higher, RN license, and 1 year of RN Med/Surg/Tele experience; Oncology experience preferred. The system offers strong benefits and relocation support where applicable.

Qualifications

• BSN or higher required.
• 1 year of RN Med/Surg/Tele RN experience; Oncology RN experience preferred.
• Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or obtain within 30 days of hire or transfer

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care for oncology patients, including chemotherapy administration and supportive treatments.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team (pharmacists, Palliative Care, and other specialists) to optimize patient care.
• Maintain high standards of safety, documentation, and patient advocacy in a fast-paced, high-acuity unit.

Patient Population: Solid and Liquid cancers in need of Chemotherapy or Medical Treatment and patients in all phases of Cancer Care from Initial Diagnosis to End of Life transition.

Patient Ratios: 1:4 for Day shift and 1:5 for Night shift

Number of Beds: 24-bed, single patient rooms

Dedicated to celebrating and supporting each other and our patients, the Medical Oncology Unit has Pharmacists located in the unit to partner with nurses in patient care, a dedicated Palliative Care Team, a Multidisciplinary Team that works together and Manager & Supervisor here to support and encourage your growth.

Shift: Full Time/Nights 3-12 hour shifts
