Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Medical Observation Unit on days at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, IL. Per Diem Level I status requires availability for at least 48 hours every 6 weeks, including 24 weekend hours if needed. Hours are 7:00am to 7:30pm.

The role involves patient assessment, planning and coordination of care, effective communication, and patient/family teaching. Illinois license and AHA CPR certification are required.

Qualifications

• Requires Associate's degree or BSN in nursing from an accredited program.
• Illinois nursing license is required to practice.
• Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association is required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient assessments and collect health data from patient, family, and other providers.
• Coordinate patient plan of care to ensure safe, timely and appropriate interventions.
• Communicate clearly with patients, families, and colleagues in multiple formats.
• Educate patients and families based on assessed needs.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to evaluate nursing practice.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of nursing standards and regulations.
