Job summary

TriHealth Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati, OH is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Med Surg Urology unit. This full-time day-shift role includes a $5k sign-on bonus and a 72-hour bi-weekly schedule (7:00am–7:30pm) with every 3rd weekend and holiday rotations.

The unit provides care for adult and geriatric patients, including renal and urology surgery cases, and offers opportunities for professional growth and learning.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or Diploma in Nursing
• New hires required to obtain BSN within 5 years of hire.
• BLS/CPR (Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers)
• Registered Nurse
• Knowledge, judgment, and skills derived from the principles of biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences to meet complex health care needs at various stages of the life cycle
• Preferred membership in related professional organization
• RNs with more than 1 year full-time or 2 years part-time acute care experience
• Preferred certification in specialty

Responsibilities

• Perform and document initial and ongoing patient/family assessments.
• Develop, communicate, and update individualized plans of care, including discharge planning.
• Provide safe, patient-centered care that supports autonomy, dignity, and diversity.
• Recognize and respond to emergencies and take appropriate clinical action.
• Carry out physician orders accurately and in a timely manner.
• Complete assigned care and documentation within required timeframes.
• Administer medications/treatments safely and perform technical skills per policy.
• Evaluate patient responses and revise the plan of care in collaboration with the healthcare team.
• Supervise and delegate tasks appropriately to other team members.
• Serve as a clinical resource and support training/education of staff and students.
• Maintain current clinical knowledge and adhere to organizational and departmental standards.
• Function in relief charge/resource roles as requested.
