Job summary

TriHealth Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Med Surg Urology unit on the Day shift. This full-time role offers a $5k sign-on bonus and bi-weekly schedule of 72 hours, with weekend and holiday rotation.

The 14AB unit handles adult and geriatric patients with varied medical diagnoses, including renal and urology surgery needs, and provides opportunities for learning and growth. New grads welcome to apply.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or Diploma in Nursing.
• New hires must obtain BSN within 5 years of hire.
• BLS/CPR required.
• Registered Nurse.
• Knowledge, judgement, and skills from biological, physical, behavioral, and nursing sciences.
• Membership in related professional organization preferred.
• Previous RN experience preferred but not required.
• Preferred certification in specialty.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing patient/family assessments.
• Develop, communicate, and update care plans including discharge planning.
• Provide safe, patient-centered care respecting autonomy, dignity, and diversity.
• Recognize and respond to emergencies and take appropriate clinical action.
• Carry out physician orders accurately and in a timely manner.
• Complete assigned care and documentation within required timeframes.
• Administer medications and treatments safely per policy.
• Evaluate patient responses and revise the plan with the team.
• Supervise and delegate tasks to other team members.
• Serve as a clinical resource and support training of staff and students.
• Maintain current knowledge and adhere to standards.
• Function in relief charge/resource roles as requested.
