Job summary

Texas Children's Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for the General Med/Surg unit (20WT), a 34-bed area serving kidney, liver transplant, renal and GI patients. The role requires teamwork in a fast-paced environment and shift coverage for full-time nights.

Ideal candidates hold a nursing degree (BSN/ADN), Texas licensure or NLC, BLS, and at least 9 months of nursing experience, with strong communication and organizational skills. Respiratory fit testing is required for safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing or an associate’s degree, technical diploma, or current enrollment in a nursing bridge program is required.
• Current Texas nursing license or Nurse Licensure Compact and BLS from American Heart Association required.
• 9 months of professional nursing experience.
• Demonstrate positive interpersonal skills and effective time/resource management.
• Demonstrate flexibility and strong oral and written communication.

• Update care plans and communicate changes to the health care team.
