Job summary

Texas Children’s Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Surgical/Ortho/Trauma unit 11WT. This 36-bed unit delivers care across general, orthopedic, urology, plastic, and ENT surgeries, plus a dedicated trauma area with expanded roles for trauma patients.

The successful candidate will hold a nursing degree, Texas licensure (or compact), BLS, and demonstrate strong communication, time management, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment. Night shifts are possible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing or an associate’s degree is required.
• Current Texas nursing licensure or compact licensure required.
• BLS certification required.
• At least 9 months of professional nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient/family needs in an organized, systematic manner.
• Monitor patient status, anticipate changes, and adjust care plans.
• Participate in rounds and care conferences, document care.
• Administer medications and treatments promptly.
• Contribute to unit performance improvement initiatives.
