Job summary

Allegheny Health Network's Canonsburg Hospital is seeking a licensed RN to join the 2West Medical Surgical/Telemetry Unit. This 40-bed unit provides medical-surgical and telemetry care across multiple specialties including cardiac, pulmonary, infectious disease, neurology, GI, surgical and orthopedic services.

The role emphasizes direct patient care, adherence to policies, ongoing patient education, and collaboration with RNs, LPNs, PCTs and support staff in a collegial environment.

Qualifications

• Current State of PA RN licensure OR Current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).

Responsibilities

• Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, protocols, and standards.
• Utilizes the nursing process in providing and coordinating the plan of patient care for the age appropriate population.
• Initiates, monitors and revises interdisciplinary plan of care based on assessment findings and physician orders.
• Completes patient documentation in a comprehensive manner in accordance with facility policies and regulatory requirements.
• Provides ongoing and appropriate teaching to patients and families to guide them across the continuum of care.
• Supports the development of students, new staff and colleagues, may serve as a preceptor.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
