Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a PRN position in the 3 Main, Med Surg department. Work location is UAB St. Vincent's Birmingham.

The role focuses on delivering direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, monitoring patient plans, and coordinating care with a multidisciplinary team. The ideal candidate holds a Nursing Diploma with active RN licensure in Alabama (or eligibility) and has at least 1 year of RN experience, plus BLS within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required within 1 month of hire.
• Current RN licensure by Alabama Board of Nursing required or eligible.
• Diploma from an accredited nursing program; licensure at time of hire; 1 year RN experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care per policy and procedures.
• Coordinate patient care with all disciplines for well-coordinated care.
• Follow physician and nursing orders and monitor patient conditions.
• Assist with discharge planning in coordination with healthcare team.
