Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a registered nurse (PRN) to provide direct nursing care at UAB St Vincent's Birmingham. The role involves implementing care plans, coordinating disciplines, and communicating patient status to ensure timely and effective treatment.

Qualified candidates will hold a Diploma in Nursing and be licensed as an RN by the Alabama Board of Nursing, with BLS within 30 days of hire and minimum one year of RN experience. Generous benefits apply for eligible positions.

Qualifications

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing.
• Current RN license by the Alabama Board of Nursing.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire. (American Heart Association or Red Cross accepted)

Responsibilities

• Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
• Implements and monitors patient care plans; records and communicates patient condition.
• Acts as primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
• Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with the healthcare team.
