Job summary

Carle Health's NT6 Observation unit is seeking an experienced RN to provide acute care for a mixed patient population in a fast-paced 43-bed setting. You will perform admissions assessments, plan and implement care, monitor telemetry, manage IVs, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, timely care within a 24–48 hour stay.

The role offers a $10,000 sign-on bonus for external applicants, with a 1-year to 3-year commitment.

Qualifications

• RN license required at hire
• Nursing Diploma required
• BLS certification within 30 days

Responsibilities

• Performs all responsibilities and duties required by unit as specific to the scope of service.
• Implements procedures and theories related to the specific area of practice.
• Maintains up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided to assure integration of information for the healthcare team.
• Completes initial assessment upon patient admission and develops appropriate plan of care.
• Implements plan of care, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures.
• Modifies plan of care based on continuous evaluation.
• Ensures patient and employee safety by reporting/correcting hazards or incidents.
• Attends staff meetings and participates in continuous education on unit standards.
• Assess IV sites every 4 hours and start new IVs per policy.
