Job summary

Allina Health’s United Hospital is hiring an RN for the Med-Surg Float Pool. This position features a .9 FTE (72 hours per two-week pay period) with 8- and 12-hour night shifts and every 3rd weekend rotation.

The role covers multiple units—post-surgical, general medicine, oncology, ortho, and rehab—requiring current Med-Surg or Tele RN experience and appropriate certifications. The department emphasizes leadership, safety, and collaboration to deliver high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Vocational degree required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Professional RN experience.
• Medical/Surgical experience.
• Current BLS certification required.
• ACLS/ALS or in-house training within specified timelines.
• CMSRN certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care across patient care departments.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care with patient and family.
• Coordinate and delegate to ensure safe, effective care.
• Fulfill all organizational requirements; serve as Charge Nurse or Preceptor as needed.
