About The Med Surg Unit This unit is a 13-bed Med Surg unit with overflow into ICU. Stroke Certified. We treat our patients as our own family. Accountability, honesty, compassion and courage are important. Great teamwork, collaboration and safe personal care for our patients. Regionals also offer flexibility with your schedule. Nurse to patient ratio 1:5 for days, up to 1:6 on nights.

Scope of work

Delivers nursing care responsibly and accountably as described by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and legally by the State of Michigan. Demonstrates competency through the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Upholds the standards of professional performance as described by the ANA. This includes ethical practice, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice and research, quality of practice, professional practice evaluation, resource utilization and environmental health. Strives to achieve optimal outcomes.

Qualifications

• Associates in Nursing Required
• Bachelor’s in Nursing Required within 5 years
• MI Registered Nurse (RN) Required
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required within 90 days
• AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Required within 6 months
