Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health's Jersey Shore University Medical Center seeks a Registered Nurse to join the Maternal Child Services team, providing labor, delivery, and newborn care with a collaborative multidisciplinary approach in a Baby Friendly environment.

You will document at the point of care, administer medications with bar-scanning, educate families, and participate in discharge planning. NJ RN license and BLS/CPR are required; ACLS/NRP preferred with certification within six months.

Qualifications

• New Jersey RN license is required.
• BLS/CPR certification by American Heart Association within 60 days of hire.
• Minimum 6 months of nursing experience or active participation in the HMH Nurse Residency program.
• Maternal child services experience in a hospital setting preferred.
• ACLS/NRP preferred; obtain within 6 months of hire.
• BSN in progress or willingness to pursue within 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care according to evidence-based research, policies and standards to ensure safe delivery of patient care.
• Maintain ongoing communication with patients, nursing colleagues and other health care team members regarding status and plans.
• Administer medications using bar-scanning and documentation technologies.
• Record at the point of care for assessments, plans, interventions and evaluations.
• Provide patient and family education to optimize health and disease management.
• Discharge patients through multidisciplinary collaboration to ensure safe transitions.
• Care for Labor and Delivery, Mother/Baby, High Risk Antepartum, OR circulating, and newborn nursery.
