Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health Inc. seeks a dedicated neonatal/maternal child care nurse to join our Labor and Delivery, Mother/Baby, and High Risk Antepartum teams. You will contribute to high-quality patient care across multiple units and collaborate with a skilled team in a Baby Friendly Institution.

Candidates must have NJ RN license, BLS/CPR, and at least 6 months of nursing experience or be in the Nurse Residency program. ACLS/NRP preferred with certifications obtainable within 6 months.

Qualifications

• Current and valid New Jersey Registered Nurse license is required.
• BLS/CPR certification by American Heart Association is required within 60 days of hire.
• Must have a minimum of 6 months of nursing experience or be an active participant in the Hackensack Meridian Health Nurse Residency program.
• Maternal child services experience in a hospital setting including labor and delivery, postpartum, antepartum, and well-baby nursery is preferred.
• ACLS preferred, must obtain within 6 months.
• NRP preferred, must obtain within 6 months.
• Inpatient Obstetrics and/or External Fetal Monitoring Certification is a plus.
• BSN in progress and/or willing to acquire within three (3) years of hire.
• The ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing patient needs, a strong sense of accountability for improving the lives of our patients and their caregivers, an exceptional focus on teamwork, dedication to ongoing education and the ability and passion to deliver the highest quality of care based on a strong sense of patient focus are all required.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care across Labor and Delivery, Mother/Baby, and High Risk Antepartum units.
• Support patient and family education and emotional needs during maternal care events.

Our Maternal Child Services team is responsible for the 36 bed Labor and Delivery, Mother/Baby, and High Risk Antepartum areas, 7 bed triage, and 2 Operating Rooms. We are also designated a Baby Friendly Institution.
