Demonstrates clinical competence to practice direct patient care within the units Scope of Care.
Manages day-to-day operations of the unit in meeting the mission of the company, hospital and department, as well as supporting an environment of care to meet that mission and to comply with all regulatory requirements.
Actively manages all variable costs within scope of responsibility to meet budgetary targets
Communicates effectively with staff, peers, superiors, external and internal customers.
Utilizes quality improvement strategies to improve unit/departmental processes, and to meet goals.
Oversees all aspects of staffing, acting in accordance with Human Resource policies and within budgetary limits, in targeted selection, in planned staff development opportunities, in making daily assignments, and in providing feedback.
Demonstrates effective leadership behaviors, modeling professionalism, accountability, and the pursuit of ones own professional growth and development.
Education & Experience:
Two years of current experience in nursing in which leadership and management abilities have been demonstrated.- Required
Three years of current experience in nursing with participation in formal leadership role(s) (e.g. Charge Nurse) and activities (e.g. Nurse Practice Council)- Preferred
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a current license as a RN in the State of Virginia - Required.
BSN or related health degree- Preferred.
