Job summary

Henrico Doctors' Hospital is seeking an RN Manager Perianesthesia to lead day-to-day unit operations, assure high-quality patient care, and oversee staffing, budget targets, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate has two years as an RN with leadership, three years as an OR RN in a charge nurse role, and a Virginia RN license; BSN or business administration studies are preferred.

Qualifications

• Two years experience as RN with demonstrated leadership and management skills.
• Three years’ experience as an OR RN in a charge nurse role – Preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a current RN license in Virginia – Required.
• Educational programs in nursing management; BSN or related study preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates clinical competence to practice direct patient care within unit scope.
• Manages day-to-day unit operations to meet mission, regulatory requirements, and budget targets.
• Oversees staffing, scheduling, recruitment, and daily assignments within HR policies and budget.
• Communicates effectively with staff and external/internal customers; supports quality improvement initiatives.

Job Summary And Qualifications

• Demonstrates clinical competence to practice direct patient care within the unit’s Scope of Care.
• Manages day-to-day operations of the unit in meeting the mission of the company, hospital and department, as well as supporting an environment of care to meet that mission and to comply with all regulatory requirements.
• Actively manages all variable costs within scope of responsibility to meet budgetary targets.
• Communicates effectively with staff, peers, superiors, external and internal customers.
• Utilizes quality improvement strategies to improve unit/departmental processes, and to meet goals.
• Oversees all aspects of staffing, acting in accordance with Human Resource policies and within budgetary limits, in targeted selection, in planned staff development opportunities, in making daily assignments, and in providing feedback.
• Demonstrates effective leadership behaviors, modeling professionalism, accountability, and the pursuit of one’s own professional growth and development

Education & Experience:

• Two years experience as RN with demonstrated proficiency leadership and management skills – Required
• Three years’ experience as an OR RN in a charge nurse role – Preferred
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a current license as a RN in the State of Virginia – Required
• Educational programs in nursing management. Currently enrolled in a program of study obtaining a B.S.N. or B.S - Business Administration - Preferred
