Job summary

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of practice.
• BSN required.
• 1–2 years of acute or respiratory nursing experience.
• Experience with trach and ventilator care.
• BLS/ACLS certification; CRRN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients recovering from surgery, illness, or injury.
• Manage patients with tracheostomy and ventilator support, including suctioning, monitoring, and emergency response.
• Assess patient conditions and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with physicians and therapists.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, and monitor for effectiveness and side effects.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) and mobility support.
• Educate patients and families on rehabilitation goals, respiratory care, and discharge planning.
• Maintain accurate documentation in electronic health records.
• Collaborate with respiratory therapists and other specialists to ensure safe and effective ventilator management.
• Adhere to infection control protocols and hospital safety standards.
• Participate in team meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing education.
