Job summary

Sweetwater Care is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for LTAC hospital settings with trach/vent experience. You will provide direct patient care and work with rehab and respiratory teams to support patients toward independence and improved quality of life.

The role requires an active RN license in the state, a BSN or ASN, and 1–2 years in acute or respiratory nursing. BLS/ACLS required; CRRN preferred. Rotating shifts include weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• RN license in the state of practice is required.
• BSN or ASN in Nursing is required.
• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in acute care or respiratory nursing.
• Experience with trach and ventilator care is required.
• BLS/ACLS certification required; CRRN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients recovering from surgery, illness, or injury.
• Manage patients with tracheostomy and ventilator support, including suctioning, monitoring, and emergency response.
• Assess patient conditions and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with physicians and therapists.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, and monitor for effectiveness and side effects.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) and mobility support.
• Educate patients and families on rehabilitation goals, respiratory care, and discharge planning.
• Maintain accurate documentation in electronic health records.
• Collaborate with respiratory therapists and other specialists to ensure safe and effective ventilator management.
• Adhere to infection control protocols and hospital safety standards.
• Participate in team meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing education.
