Job summary

The Cypress of Charlotte is seeking a licensed RN/LPN for full-time 2nd or 3rd shift to provide direct nursing care and supervise staff delivering quality care.

Responsibilities include medication administration, shift reporting, and rounds, ensuring resident safety and documenting care per protocol. Valid NC or compact license and elderly-care experience are preferred. Competitive benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Must have valid NC or compact state LPN/RN license.
• Minimum of 3 months’ experience as a LPN/RN, preferably elderly care.
• Comprehensive knowledge of nursing principles and practices.
• Ability to observe changes in resident’s condition and act accordingly.
• Ability to supervise staff and maintain good working relationships among personnel.

Responsibilities

• Receive and give report at shift change for LPN/RN and CNA. Make Rounds. Report all deficiencies to the Director of Nursing.
• Count and sign off on narcotics at the beginning and the end of shift.
• Pass medications, documenting on MAR, and notify Director of Nursing of any incomplete documentation.
• Apply treatments, lotions, dressings, etc. as needed, documenting in treatment record.
• Document on residents per protocol.
• Notify family and physicians of change in resident condition and as necessary.
• Monitor dining room during meals, ensuring all necessary staff are present.
• Replenish supplies for the medicine cart, medicine room and resident rooms. If there is a shortage, orders through central supply personnel.
