Job summary

Amergis is seeking a Labor and Delivery RN for a travel assignment in Bentonville, AR. The nurse will apply the nursing process, monitor mothers and newborns, and coordinate care across the perinatal team.

The ideal candidate holds a valid RN license in Arkansas, has L&D experience, and can demonstrate clinical judgment and patient education throughout the birthing process and postpartum period.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse license within the state of practice.
• One year of Labor and Delivery clinical experience within the last three years preferred.
• RNC-OB certification preferred.
• Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice.
• Current CPR if applicable.
• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable.
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation).
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Assists with Labor and Delivery care using the nursing process.
• Monitors the mother's vital signs and postpartum status, ensuring safe transition to maternal–child care.
• Provides patient education and coordinates newborn care in the postnatal period.
• Maintains clinical judgment and adheres to nursing standards.

The Labor and Delivery Nurse assumes responsibility and accountability for the application of the nursing process and the delivery of patient care in the L&D Setting. The Labor and Delivery Nurse demonstrates the ability to make clinical judgments in an effective and efficient manner, consistently performs according to nursing standards and is accountable in managing patient and newborn care

The Labor and Delivery Nurse works with Mothers during the final stages of pregnancy helping with birthing, monitoring the Mother’s vital signs, and becoming astute in signs and symptoms of possible complications. The Labor and Delivery Nurse is involved in patient education and addressing the psychosocial needs of Mothers after delivery and demonstrates critical thinking and performance ability in the coordination of patient care. The Labor and Delivery Nurse may also provide comprehensive nursing care to postpartum patients and newborns during the recovery and postpartum period, ensuring safe transition from labor and delivery to maternal-child care.
