Job summary

Amergis is seeking a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) for travel assignments in Iowa. The role involves assisting mothers through the final stages of pregnancy, monitoring vital signs, and addressing postpartum needs. Strong clinical judgment and the ability to coordinate care are essential.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state of practice.
• One year of Labor and Delivery experience in the last three years preferred.
• RNC-OB preferred.

• Must meet federal, state and local requirements.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in the L&D setting using the nursing process.
• Monitor mothers’ vital signs and detect potential complications.
• Educate mothers and address psychosocial needs after delivery.
• Coordinate patient care with the healthcare team.

The Labor and Delivery Nurse assumes responsibility and accountability for the application of the nursing process and the delivery of patient care in the L&D Setting. The Labor and Delivery Nurse demonstrates the ability to make clinical judgments in an effective and efficient manner with supervision.

The Labor and Delivery Nurse works with Mothers during the final stages of pregnancy helping with birthing, monitoring the Mother’s vital signs, and becoming astute in signs and symptoms of possible complications. The Labor and Delivery Nurse is involved in patient education and addressing the psychosocial needs of Mothers after delivery and demonstrates critical thinking and performance ability in the coordination of patient care. Consistently performs according to nursing standards and is accountable in managing patient care and assisting others in the management of patient care.

• Current Registered Nurse license within the state of practice
• One year of Labor and Delivery clinical experience within the last three years preferred
• RNC-OB Preferred
• Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
• Current CPR if applicable
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age
