Job summary

Baptist Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide breastfeeding education and lactation consulting in inpatient and outpatient settings. The role includes mentoring instructors and maintaining compliance with national standards for breastfeeding education.

Responsibilities include staff development, program evaluation, and completing required competencies within the introductory period. Additional duties as assigned support patient education initiatives in a hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years clinical nursing practice with demonstrated competency.

Responsibilities

• Provides breast-feeding education and consultation to prospective and actual patients in inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Provides staff development guidance to assist staff in giving lactation support in hospital environments.
• Monitors, evaluates, and revises breast feeding patient education programs to ensure compliance with national standards.
• Mentors and evaluates instructors providing breast-feeding education.
• Completes established competencies within designated introductory period.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
