Job summary

Bozeman Health seeks an experienced Registered Nurse Lactation Consultant to provide expert breastfeeding support, education, and counseling to mothers, babies, and families. You will address latch, milk supply, and feeding techniques while collaborating with clinicians to promote breastfeeding-friendly practices.

The role involves teaching classes, offering in-person and remote guidance, and staying current with research to ensure evidence-based care across hospital, clinic, or private settings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing required.
• Montana RN license current.
• AHA BLS certification current.
• IBCLC certification or CLC certification required.
• NRP certification within 6 months of hire; recert every 2 years.
• 3 years of clinical maternal/child nursing with lactation focus.
• Experience in teaching, communication, and counseling.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group lactation support, prenatal education, and postpartum visits.
• Assess maternal and infant health and document breastfeeding goals to tailor care.
• Educate healthcare providers, families, and community about breastfeeding.
• Refer clients to community resources to enhance care.
• Develop and lead breastfeeding classes and workshops.
• Promote best practices and participate in quality improvement and research.
