Job summary

Bozeman Health is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse Lactation Consultant to provide expert breastfeeding support and education to mothers, babies, and families in Southwest Montana.

The role involves collaborating with healthcare teams, promoting evidence-based breastfeeding practices, and leading classes and workshops to empower families. A BSN, active MT RN license, and IBCLC/CLC certification are required, with NRP within six months of hire.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing and MT RN licensure are required.
• AHA BLS certification is required.
• IBCLC or CLC certification preferred/required.
• NRP certification within 6 months of hire; recert every 2 years.
• Minimum 3 years maternal/child nursing with lactation focus.
• Experience in teaching, communication, and counseling.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group lactation support, including prenatal education and postnatal follow-up.
• Assess maternal and infant health and tailor care plans for successful breastfeeding.
• Educate healthcare providers, families, and community about breastfeeding.
• Identify needs and refer to community resources.
• Develop and lead breastfeeding classes and workshops.
• Promote breastfeeding-friendly practices and participate in quality improvement.
